Beryl has been with the Washington County Sheriff's Department for over 30 years. Previously he worked as an adult corrections officer and also served with the United States Army as a military policeman. His hobbies include camping, boating and local history.
Tim was hired as a deputy in 1984. He has worked as a Patrol Deputy and a Investigator. In July of 2000 he was assigned responsibility for the Public Safety Computer Network and Web Site. He is married and has three children. He also is responsible for Federal, State, and local grant writing. He enjoys woodworking, golf, fishing, and web design.
Mike has been a Deputy Sheriff for Washington County since 1984. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2001 and to investigator in 2002. Mike is married and has four sons.
Tom has been with the department for 11 years. He is married to Carmela and has four children, Melissa, Bryan, Jordan and Mikayala, as well as one granddaughter, Jayla. His off-duty time is spent with family.
Bill was originally from Maryland and worked for three years as a Maryland State Trooper. He also worked for five years as a Deputy Sheriff in Maryland before moving to Kalona. Bill joined the Washington County Sheriff's Department in 1999.
Eric worked for the Keokuk County Sheriff's Department from 1996 to until he was hired as a Washington County Deputy in 1999. He has a degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Eric enjoys all athletic activities and has been powerlifting competitively for four years.
Robyn started with the Sheriff's Department as a Jailer and was hired as a Patrol Deputy in 2000. She enjoys boating, fishing, hiking and spending time with her family.
Jared started with the sheriff's department in 1995 as a jailer. He was hired as a Deputy Sheriff in 1998 and graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy the same year. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2002.Jared enjoys spending his free time with friends and family.
Darren has been with the Sheriff's Department since 1995. He was promoted to Sergeant in charge of the Civil Department in 1997. In 2009 he was assigned to oversee the Sex Offender Registry. Darren has prior experience as a military policeman. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology. He and his wife, Karen, enjoy running, camping and horseback riding.
